    Vintage 2019:

    James Suckling: 96pts:

    Subtle and complex aromas of sweet berries, rose stems and lavender with some sandalwood. Medium-to full-bodied with beautiful depth of fruit, creamy tannins and lots of chocolate and berry character. Yet, it's tight at the end, showing beautiful depth and length. So structured.

    by James Suckling, JS, 2022

    Vinous Media: 96pts:

    The 2019 Rauzan-Segla is a statuesque Margaux that is all in reserve. There is plenty of power and depth, but the 2019 is pretty closed today. Even so, the 2019 is clearly a wine of harmony and exquisite balance that is playing its cards close to the vest. Sweet dark cherry, plum, licorice spice and a touch of new oak are laced into the vibrant, persistent finish. The 2019 is a super-classic Rauzan-Segla that will thrill those who can wait.

    Wine Spectator: 93pts:

    Offers a very elegant core of red and black currant and damson plum fruit that glides through with silky structure for support, while light mulling spice and incense notes infuse the finish. A rather understated style, but sneaky long and very refined. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

    by Wine Spectator, JM, 2022

    Wine Advocate: 96pts:

    The 2019 Rauzan-Segla has turned out brilliantly, unwinding in the glass with fragrant aromas of cassis, blackberries, violets, rose petals and sweet soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, seamless and concentrated, it's deep and layered, with beautifully refined tannins, lively acids and a long, perfumed finish. This is a sensual, elegant Rauzan-Segla from Nicolas Audebert and his team.

    by Wine Advocate, WK, 2022.

    Wines Enthusiast: 96pts:

    This wine has a fine structure, with dense tannins from the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. It is a full wine, the spicy character mingling with black currant flavors. The wine has an excellent future.

    Vintage 2020

    Jeb Dunnuck: 98pts:

    The 2020 Chateau Rauzan-Segla is pure Margaux brilliance, and this beautifully elegant wine embodies the best of the vintage. Revealing a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a great bouquet of blackcurrants, black cherries, lead pencil, sandalwood, smoked tobacco, and hints of incense, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a layered, seamless mouthfeel, integrated acidity, and a great finish.

    by Jeb Dunnuck, JD, 2023.

    James Suckling: 97pts:

    A very polished red with blackberry, black olive, walnut, and crushed stone aromas that follow through to a medium to full body with polished, velvety tannins that go on for minutes. Surprisingly open and so attractive. Wonderful length to this.

    by James Suckling, JS, 2023.

    Wine Enthusiast: 96pts;

    This wine has a fine structure, with dense tannins from the Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend. It is a full wine, the spicy character mingling with black currant flavors. The wine has an excellent future.

    Wines Spectator: 93pts

    Shows nice range and texture, with a mix of plum, black currant and black cherry preserves carried by a very silky structure, while black tea, alder and sweet tobacco fill in through the finish. Approachable for its caressing edge, but there's no rush. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot

    by Wine Spectator, JM, 2023

    Vinous Media: 96pts:

    The 2020 Rauzan-Segla is very perfumed and delineated on the nose, with vivacious black fruit, cassis and violet blossoming in the glass. The oak is very well integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, quite rounded and plush, but there is backbone and structure here. Very persistent on the finish, this is a Rauzan-Segla for the ages.

    by Vinous Media, NM, 2024.

    Wine Advocate: 98pts;:

    The 2020 Rauzan-Segla is showing brilliantly in bottle. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cassis and minty blackberries mingled with violets and licorice, it's medium to full-bodied, suave and seamless, with a deep core of vibrant fruit, beautifully refined tannins and a harmonious, integrated profile that exudes elegance. A wine of immense character and refinement, it's the best vintage from this estate in recent times.

    by Wine Advocate, WK, 2023.

    Vintage 2022:

    James Suckling: 98pts;

    Aromas of blueberries and blackberries with walnuts and hints of tar that follow through to a medium to full body with plush and velvety tannins and a lovely, caressing mouthfeel. It closes up at the end. Extremely long, pure and structured. Classic 72% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot and 2% petit verdot. From organically grown grapes.

    by James Suckling, JS, 2025

    Vinous Media: 97+pts:

    The 2022 Rauzan-Segla is a classy, elegant wine. Even so, the 2022 very clearly lacks the immediacy of some surrounding vintages. Readers should be prepared to cellar this for a number of years The mid-weight, gracious presence of Rauzan-Segla is very much present, and yet the tannins are pretty imposing. Dark red/purplish fruit, rose petal, graphite and white pepper are all beautifully delineated in the glass. The 2022 is pure and total sophistication. This is a wine that may very well have more to say in the future.

    by Vinous Media, AG, 2025.

    Wine Advocate: 96-97pts;

    The 2022 Rauzan-Segla is a beautifully sensual, charming wine, bursting with aromas of cherries, dark berries and plums mingled with hints of violets, sweet loamy soil and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, deep and layered, it's fleshy and enveloping, with an ample core of vibrant fruit, supple tannins and a long, succulent finish. The 2022 is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot; and in 2022, the east-facing sides of the vines, which see the afternoon sun, were picked separately, along with anything that showed signs of stress.

    by Wine Advocate, WK, 2023.

    Wine Spectator: 96pts:

    This is dreamy, with deliciously juicy mulberry and blackberry puree flavors that stream through, carried by a vivid mix of iris, violet and anise, along with a long, well-embedded iron note. As this airs in the glass, it gains a caressing feel and greater depth, ending with a long echo of warm earth. Beautifully done. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.

    2019 Vintage Notes :

    The 2019 vintage is alluring because of its discreet elegance. It is as if the winemaker sensed the appeal of revealing its photo in black and white while leaving a tantalising graininess. It emits an aura of mystery, a veil of modesty that creates a gentle and cocooning atmosphere that accounts for its charm. The fruit seems to develop smoothly on the palate before reaching an uplifting finale. It has a lot of class. Vibrancy, too. Aromas of morello cherry, iris and rosemary. The fresh fig confers an aromatic hint that seems to last for ever and it has the texture of all great Margaux wines, between power and sophistication. A great Rauzan

    2020 Vintage Notes:

    The first nose discloses subtle floral notes of centifolia rose and hawthorn. The delicate springlike structure is refreshed by sappy notes of white flowers. After a few swirls in the glass the nose develops a delectable chocolatey character combining praline and coffee. The palate opens up with its typical, velvety smooth attack and beautifully coated tannins. A certain dynamism underpins the palate and tempers the density of the vintage. The 2020 is a complex, powerful and expertly crafted wine that has overcome the difficulties of this very challenging year with aplomb

    2022 Vintage Notes :

    Tasting immerses us in the naturally rich, powerful world of 2022. Built around black fruit, the wine is beautifully dense with ripe, fleshy fruit such as Bigarreau cherry. This intense fruitiness is combined with the tone of citrus notes, adding a sanguine touch to the wine. Sappy touches, a tussle of complex aromas. Smooth tannins, just tightly knit enough, clad the fruit in elegance and coat the palate for a lingering finish. Mineral, almost chalky notes at the end keep the wine’s energy going.
