The Estate
Il Borro has its roots in a fascinating thousand-year history, brought back to life by the Ferragamo family, also in terms of wine production. With a careful study of the terroir, the unique microclimate and the composition of the soil, Salvatore Ferragamo has launched an ambitius redevelopment project. He has recovered the historic vineyards, preserving their value, and introduced new vines in harmony with the territory, to best enhance their potential.
The Wine
Pian Di Nova, a full body wine whose elegance and silkiness never dissapoints expectations, is a dynamic blend that best combines the spices of Syrah with the fruit of Sangiovese.
Tasting notes
Profile: Particularly fresh and direct, with really lively present fruit.
Color: Medium Garnet Red.
Nose: complex medium Intensity aromas of black fruits that open to spicy notes of herbs, white pepper and licorice. Also present terciary aromas of cacao and sweet tobacco.
Palate: Soft and refined tannins with a balanced fruit-acidity and a long, almost sweet, finish.

Vintage Caractheristics:
2021:
A mild winter, with few and short cold spells, was followed by a cool spring with little rainfall. In summer, temperatures were average, with some rainfall towards the end of august that allowed the grapes to fully ripen. The wines are characterized by intense color and full, expressive flavor.
