The Estate

Located in the north, near the prestigious Montosoli area, these vineyards are exposed to the south-east and rest on a soil rich in skeleton, composed mainly of galestro, albarese and tuff. Thanks to the continental microclimate and the qualities of the soil, the wines produced here exhibit elegance and good balance, with lively acidity, structure and a pleasant fuity note. The heart of the property, the Pinino vineyards boast historic plants, one and half hectare dating back to 1980, one hectare planted in 2000 and another in 2014. In total, the surface area covers 3.5 hectares.

The Wine

Pinino's Rosso di Montalcino offers all the typicality of the company's terroir in a wine that combines good structure with great drinkability.

Tasting notes

A lively red, it is very fruity on the nose, with intense aromas of raspberry and cherry and light hints of spices. In the mouth it is fresh, full bodied, with velvety tannins and a pleasant persistence.

  • Vintage Caractheristics:

2022 : Will be remembered as one of the hottest and driest years. The first months were characterized by a lack of rainfall that continued into spring. From the second half of May, there were also increases in temperatures, well above seasonal averages. The strong conditions of thermal and water stress were however tolerated by the Sangiovese Grosso thanks to its anisohydric characteristics. At the end of July, there were finally some rains that were decisive in overturning the vintage's outcome. there was an early harvest that concluded towards the last week of September, with grapes that were rich in polyphenolic content and interesting in terms of aromas.
